"On God's Eagle Wings" And … they (God's people) were given two wings of a great eagle, that they might fly into the wilderness,..., where they are nourished for a time … Revelation 12:14 The background of this page is the view from the old fortress Masada overlooking the Dead Sea. Masada stands today as an emblem of the need for vigilance. Over the centuries, the Lord has used the desert as a place of refuge and training where they are separated from distractions, etc. It is His purpose to provide opportunity to trust in His provision and to overcome temptations and the powers of evil. Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them ... He made them ride on the heights ... and fed ... and nourished ... (Exodus 32:11, 12) Too often, God's people are unwilling to "spend time in the desert". They are too involved with the affairs of this life, or trapped not knowing the way out. But it is God's will to carry you to "spiritual heights". Eph 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. NKJV" Eph 2:1-7 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus … NKJV There can be a vast difference between God's will and what actually takes place in your life. Being alive with Christ, and seated together with Christ is common for all true Christians. The first is the received grace of salvation, the second is the position of spiritual authority in Christ. However, not all Christians are taking advantage of their spiritual position. There is great need in the Body of Christ today for those who are "On Eagle Wings" to help others to get there. It is good to desire to possess all that God has for you. There are many examples of men and women in the Bible who were overcomers and operated from the position of the spiritual authority God gave them. People like Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Caleb, Ruth, Esther, Deborah, and many others. Are you willing to "spend time in the desert" by making yourself available to the Lord's training and spiritual transformation of your life? You are invited to live a life "On Eagle Wings" as a person learning to totally depend on your relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ. "On Eagle Wings" refers to the work of the Holy Spirit to bring supernatural revelation (of truth) and transformation (to make you more like Christ). Examine yourself and make a total giving of your heart to the Lord's process of transformation of your life. Study, and make the prayer below your own. This is a faith choice to be spiritually positioned above the basic lusts of the human nature and Satan's kingdom. Satan will test your commitment, so make your stand in Christ! Prayer: Lord, I choose to open myself to your total will and purpose for my life. I ask that you would lead me to a place of learning and transformation. I ask that you would search me and grant me the understanding of the root causes of pain and brokenness in my life. I desire that my life would more reflect your purposes and plan. I desire that your glory would shine through me. I open my heart to the lifelong process of revelation of what's there and for spiritual cleansing and transformation. I ask for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit, carry me on your eagle wings. Teach me to be more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. I pray this not only for my benefit, but for the benefit of those whom my ministry will touch in the future. This I ask in Jesus' name, Amen. If you have just
